Services
At Manchester Prostate Clinic we have expertise in investigating and treating a range of common urological conditions

Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA)
Raised PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen)
PSA is a protein produced by the prostate. A high PSA level may indicate prostate conditions such as infection, enlargement, or cancer. Further tests, including imaging and biopsies, may be required to aid diagnosis.

Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms (LUTS)
Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms (LUTS)
LUTS refers to issues like frequent urination, weak stream, urgency, and nocturia (waking up to urinate). These symptoms are common with prostate enlargement, bladder dysfunction, or infections and can often be managed with lifestyle changes or medications.

Haematuria
Blood in Urine (Haematuria)
Blood in the urine can be caused by infections, kidney stones, or more serious conditions like bladder or kidney cancer. A thorough evaluation, including urine tests and imaging, is often required to determine the cause.

Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)
Enlarged Prostate (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia – BPH)
BPH is a non-cancerous growth of the prostate gland that can obstruct urine flow, causing difficulty urinating, frequent urination, and a weak stream. Treatments range from medications, to minimally invasive procedures.
Prostate Cancer
Prostate Cancer is the most common cancer in men, affecting 1 in 8 men in their lifetime. It is often slow-growing but can potentially be more aggressive. Black men and men with a family history are twice as likely to develop prostate cancer. Often asymptomatic, symptoms of prostate cancer can include urinary issues and bone pain in advanced cases. PSA blod tests, MRI scans and targetted prostate biopsies help in early detection.

PSA
Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA)
PSA is a protein made by the prostate. A blood test measures PSA levels, which can be raised due to prostate conditions like enlargement, infection, or cancer. Further tests may be needed to determine the cause.

mpMRI
Prostate MRI
A prostate multi-parametric MRI provides detailed images of the prostate to detect abnormalities such as cancer or inflammation. It is often used for better diagnosis, especially when PSA levels are elevated.

Prostate Biopsy (LATP)
Local Anaesthetic Transperineal (LATP) Prostate Biopsy
LATP prostate biopsy is a minimally invasive procedure used to take prostate tissue samples for cancer diagnosis. It is performed under local anaesthetic via the perineum, reducing infection risk compared to traditional biopsy methods.
